Absolutely Animals Training Contract
Absolutely Animals Training Contract
We will provide one or more tutors, holding a full City and Guilds Level 3 (Advanced) Certificate in Dog Grooming, supervising teaching sessions at all times. If you require a particular tutor please indicate on the form.
(Please note there will be an additional charge of 30% of the course price for this VIP course)
All courses are targeted at an adult audience and focus on practical work, therefore learners must expect to carry out self-directed learning as part of their flexible, individual learning plan.
At induction the individual learning plan will be agreed with the learner in order to meet the planned assessment schedule.
We will use all available resources and teaching methods in order for you to achieve the highest standard possible. You are required to undertake all practical, demonstrations, direct observation, home studies and written tasks relevant to your course. If you refuse to do so, we will not be held responsible if you do not gain the full benefits of the course, this will be recorded in tutorial feedback records.
All learners are required to complete all home study assignments relevant to and during their course. It should be understood that the courses provided are introductory and expected to give learners the basic skills required in order to groom dogs/cats professionally. However, they are fast track, condensed courses and learners should carry out continuous professional development in the future to widen and develop their skills.
You will be taught basic Health and Safety and Salon Policy at your induction. You are required to use safe and professional handling and restraint of the animals in our care as instructed at all times and must agree to the following:
a) You will adhere to Absolutely Animals Health and Safety Policy at all times
b) You will treat the animals in our establishment humanely and professionally at all times
Failure to do so will result in you being asked to leave the course immediately with no refund of course fees or any part thereof.
All learners can expect to be treated with respect, dignity and professionalism and in return students are required to extend the same to all members of staff , other learners and our clients. Learners must refrain from using sexist, homophobic, ageist and racist language and actions and to respect the personal space and property of the salon, staff , other learners and clients. Failure to do so will lead to a written warning and any further incident will result in the learner being asked to leave the course with no refund of fees or part thereof.
All salon equipment should be used with care and as per instructions. Any learner damaging or breaking equipment after being instructed in its proper care will be required to replace it immediately.
It is a condition of training that learners ensure that any area used in the salon has been thoroughly cleaned before leaving at the end of the day. It is an essential part of running a salon and learners are not permitted to leave this task to other learners or salon staff. Thorough cleaning is necessary in order to conform to Health and Safety procedures and forms part of learners assessments.
Learners are not permitted to take video footage in the salon; however, they may take photographs for personal reference. These photographs are permitted for use in advertising your business in the future but must be accompanied by the following wording:
“These dogs/cats were completed in training at Absolutely Animals Ltd – Premiere Registered Training School”
Sickness Absence
Learners are expected to attend a minimum of 85% of the teaching days in order to reach the requirements of a pass. Any learner who is unable to attend, because of extreme circumstances, on a day when they are expected must telephone the salon as soon as possible in order that alternative arrangements can be made for any animals which have been booked in for teaching purposes. Any request to make up these days should be made in writing to the Principal for consideration.
The school reserves the right to refuse the opportunity for making up the missed days and no fees will be refunded. Should the school agree that the learner can make up the days then this will be at a time determined to be at the convenience of the school.
Complaints, Appeals and Appraisals
Absolutely Animals is keen to ensure that all students have a positive learning experience and are happy to receive your feedback on our courses.
Learners should note that there is a formal Complaints, Appeals and Appraisals procedure which is outlined in the course manual which will be available on induction.
