In partnership with iPet Network, a regulated awarding organisation in the animal care sector, we are offering the Emerald Certificate Cat Grooming course. This qualification provides accredited training, ensuring that learners develop recognised professional skills in feline grooming.
Qualification Overview – Emerald Certificate Cat Grooming
The Emerald Certificate Cat Grooming qualification is designed for those who want to:
- Develop the skills needed to prepare, style, and finish a variety of cat breeds.
- Understand health and safety regulations in a cat grooming salon.
- Learn about health checks, handling, and feline behaviour to improve grooming techniques.
Course Details
The Emerald Certificate Cat Grooming course includes a mix of practical training and online learning:
- Practical Training: Minimum of 6 days at Absolutely Animals.
- Online Learning: 6.5 days of self-paced lessons from home.
- Portfolio Completion: Submit an online portfolio to meet the 100 guided learning hours required for certification.
Candidates will receive personal instruction from Heidi Anderton during the online lessons, ensuring expert guidance throughout their training.
Course Structure & Requirements
This Level 3 qualification, developed by iPet Network, allows learners to enrol without needing a lower-level course.
Over six days, candidates will:
- Groom at least eight cats, covering three different breeds and three coat types.
- Learn practical grooming techniques, including prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling, and nail trimming.

How You’ll Be Assessed
Candidates are assessed through practical demonstrations and coursework, with no formal exams. This hands-on approach allows for continuous learning and skill development.

A fast-track option is available for experienced groomers looking for a formal qualification to confirm their skills. This is also ideal for those who have completed other courses and want to earn an iPet Network-recognised certificate.

- Theory: 6.5 days of online lessons from home, plus an online portfolio to complete at your own pace.

- An Online Feline First Aid Course taught by Vet Dr Sophie Bell.
- DAATA Introductory Skin and Coat Course.
- Personal instruction from Heidi Anderton as part of the online lessons.
You’ll also have direct access to a tutor and a WhatsApp group for any questions.
This qualification must be completed and assessed within 11 months.
