We understand that all our learners are individuals and therefore require a varied amount of support. We want you to achieve the skill of dog grooming and to be competent, confident and comfortable when delivering it. We have a course for everyone.
Dog grooming skills and qualifications can be achieved through three different pathways, each is dependent on the learner’s individual circumstances, level of experience, self-confidence and what they are looking to achieve.

Grooming for a Living
Everything you need to start up your own business and ideal for those with no or little experience. This is a faster track option as you will begin styling straight away. The days included are mostly practical-based tuition, you will also have a robust theory plan to complete at home.
- Gold Courses (22 days): £4,500
- Platinum Course (32 days): £5,500
(the same content as the Gold but an additional 10 days. For those who are feeling less confident – access to another 20 dogs under tuition)
- Platinum Plus Course (32 days): £6,500
(in addition to Platinum – includes City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma)
Qualification Individually Awards
The ideal choice for those who are already working in a salon or have some experience working with animals. This can be a longer route.
Dog Grooming Qualification Assessments
This is for experienced groomers only!
If you are looking to take the assessments only, you must already be practising as a professional dog groomer and be able to meet the standards required.
You will also be required to provide photographic evidence of some recent work.
Completed open learning home study plans are provided for each qualification.

- City and Guilds Dog Walking Qualification: £350
- City and Guilds Professional Recognition Awards Level 4 – LCGI: £750
- One Day Taster: £200
(Deduct your taster day cost if you book the full course within one month) - Practical Tuition: £240 per day, for trained stylists.
- Groom Your Own Large Dog – One Day: £300 (A large dog is a knee high upwards or one that needs 2 sessions worth of time to complete)
- Groom Your Own Small Dog – Half a Day: £200
